Document check

Every error in your documents, each with the passages that prove it. It covers:

  • figures that disagree across files
  • totals and percentages that don't add up
  • the wrong unit, period or currency
  • the same benefit counted twice
  • claims another document contradicts
  • material dated after the decision

Separately, it lists the assumptions your case depends on but doesn't establish. These aren't mistakes, but a reader will ask about them.

Writer's mode

The same check, plus a ready-to-paste fix for every error: the text to replace, the corrected text, and where to change it.

  • “Found in your document”: the text to replace is really there
  • “Matches the recalculated figure”: a corrected number agrees with the code's own sum
  • A warning when a corrected number doesn't match

Spreadsheet checks

Code reads every cell, with no AI involved, so nothing is guessed. It flags:

  • SUMs that leave out rows or columns
  • “Total” rows that don't equal the numbers above them
  • formulas that break their row or column's pattern
  • numbers typed over where formulas belong
  • error cells such as #DIV/0! and #REF!

For finance and operations teams whose numbers live in spreadsheets.

What a finding looks like

Not “the AI says so”. Here is the evidence.

A general-purpose AI chat can spot many of these problems. What it can't do is show you that its quotes are real, or that it re-added the column instead of trusting the figure on the page.

Our checks do both, every time. A board member, auditor or lender can verify a finding in seconds, without having to trust the tool.

In our own testing: on a fictional 7-document board pack with 8 planted errors, the check found all 8 every time we ran it, each with proof. In the same test, two general-purpose AI chat tools missed the wrong budget total in 4 of 10 runs.

On the corrected version of the pack, with every figure consistent, it reported no errors.

When you need a recommendation, not just a check

Decision Review looks at one proposed commitment: buying a system, adding capacity, changing a process, signing a vendor contract, or funding the next phase. Describe the decision, add your documents, and get a recommendation you can question.

Decision Review is a new ES method under evaluation. It gives a recommendation; you keep the decision. Where a decision depends on engineering, legal, regulatory, cybersecurity or financial expertise, it names the specialist evidence needed and doesn't replace it.

Good to know: privacy, limits and what's read

Where your files go

The text of the files you add is sent to OpenAI to be read. You confirm you're authorized to send them before each check. Only the files you add, and what you type about them, are sent.

How long we keep them

Uploaded files are deleted as soon as their text is read. The extracted text stays with your result, which only your account can see. Results are deleted after 365 days, or when you delete your account.

Unsafe files are refused

Files that aren't what they claim to be, are encrypted, or contain macros, scripts or embedded files are turned away with a plain reason.

What isn't read

We read the text in your files. Scanned pages, images and charts aren't checked. Spreadsheet values are used as last saved, so recalculate before you upload.

What a check can't judge

A check finds inconsistencies and arithmetic errors. It can't tell whether a figure is right when no other document or sum contradicts it.

Short spreadsheets

Pattern checks need several matching formulas in a row or column. In very short tables, only the totals, SUM ranges and error cells are checked.
